I'm Andrea – Wellness Is My Passion

My career started in the fast-paced world of fashion. I was one of the first in-store stylists for Topshop on Oxford Street, London, where I provided personal styling advice and shopping assistance to an incredible roster of clients — from supermodel Kate Moss and Destiny's Child singer Michelle Williams, to actress and singer-songwriter Christina Milian, BBC news broadcaster Moira Stuart, and Oscar nominee Sophie Okonedo, to name just a few.

It was an exhilarating environment that taught me so much about the power of how we present ourselves to the world — and, just as importantly, how the pressure of outward expectations can impact how we feel on the inside.

In 2017, I began making natural hair and beauty products, born out of a very real frustration — trying to find products suitable for Afro-Caribbean hair that were free from potentially harmful parabens and sulphates. I was determined to give women a healthier option: the best in natural hair and skincare without a heavy price tag. In 2019, I began making natural hand-poured candles, extending that ethos of natural wellbeing into everyday living.

For me, it's always been about empowerment — not just for some women, but for all women. It's about living your best, the natural way.

My professional growth was deeply enriched through the volunteer work I was fortunate enough to experience, working as a dresser for Smart Works Reading - helping women get into work, the rewarding work with Hand in Hand Disabilities Ministries, and deeply personally as the full-time carer for my late mother with dementia for 10 years which deepened my understanding of the importance of wellbeing, balance, and finding simple ways to restore calm amid life's demands.

As a co-formulator on the Unshrunk product range, I bring together everything I've learned — from fashion, natural formulation, and the realities of midlife — into a collection designed to empower women navigating menopause and beyond.

My background in the fashion industry gave me a clear understanding of how the pressure of outward expectations can intensify symptoms. Most of us feel stress levels rise when we're being judged on how we appear and act — that's challenging under any normal circumstance. But add to this the sense that many menopausal women have of no longer feeling in control of their own body, and you have an exacerbated sense of anxiety and overwhelm.

That's exactly why the Unshrunk Collection exists. Both pre-emptively and during those challenging moments, being able to rebalance with simple, naturally protective aids can make all the difference.
